Smokehead has introduced its oldest expression to date with the US launch of Smokehead 15 Year Old, a peated Islay single malt priced at $69.99. The September release marks the brand’s expansion into aged territory while maintaining its signature smoky profile.
The new expression is aged for 15 years and bottled at 43% ABV.
According to the brand’s official tasting notes, the whisky delivers citrus, vanilla, and coastal brine alongside its characteristic peat smoke.
“We’re excited to introduce our Smokehead 15-Year-Old as our boldest Smokehead Single Malt yet,” said Karen Walker, brand director for Smokehead Whisky.
“This Islay Single Malt is our most outspoken expression and is in keeping with the rest of the Smokehead collection.”
Walker added that the whisky’s “peaty, citrus, smoky notes take the Smokehead concept to an exciting new level and one which will appeal to those who are adventurous and who don’t stay within boundaries.”
The official notes describe earthy floral elements, smooth vanilla, and zesty lemon, culminating in a finish of peat smoke, lemon zest, and sea spray.
“Bringing Smokehead 15-Year-Old to the U.S. marks an exciting milestone in our expansion,” said Erika Solorzano, marketing manager for North America.
“Smokehead has already built a loyal following for its bold personality and innovative cask techniques, and we’re thrilled to now share that rebellious spirit with whisky fans across the United States.”
Distribution will be handled through Total Wine & More and specialist whisky retailers nationwide.
The brand, known for its unconventional approach to Islay whisky, has positioned itself as an alternative to traditional peated expressions.
Smokehead’s core range includes several expressions that experiment with different cask finishes and flavor profiles while maintaining the intense smoke character associated with Islay malts.
The 15-year-old represents the brand’s move into premium aged statements, a growing segment within the Scotch whisky category.
