Old Perth, the blended malt brand from Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers (MSWD), has released a new limited edition expression fully matured in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The cask-strength whisky, bottled at 54.3% ABV, brings together five Speyside distillates and became available on May 14 via select specialist retailers across the UK and Europe at an RRP of £60.

Each of the five component distillates was fully matured in first-fill PX sherry butts and hogsheads. The whisky is bottled with no added color and is non-chill-filtered.

Graeme Mackeddie, production director at Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, said: “We’ve taken the rich, sherry-forward style our drinkers know and love and elevated it further through full maturation in first-fill PX casks, creating something deeper, more indulgent and truly special.”
The official tasting notes from the brand describe sticky dates and overripe grapes on the nose, layered with hints of ginger and cinnamon. The palate delivers a profile reminiscent of sticky toffee pudding coated in rich molasses, with a subtle cinnamon spice lingering through the finish.
