Old Forester has announced the return of President’s Choice, its most coveted annual release, with both bourbon and rye single barrel expressions available nationally in limited quantities starting June 13. The launch coincides with National Bourbon Day and marks the eighth anniversary of Old Forester’s Distillery opening on Louisville’s Main Street.

President’s Choice Bourbon and President’s Choice Rye will each retail for $225. This marks the second consecutive year the brand has offered both expressions.

Each barrel is aged between seven and nine years and bottled at proof points ranging from 110 to 125. The series draws inspiration from private single barrels offered in 1964 by former Old Forester president George Garvin Brown II.

"It’s always an exciting time for us to bring the next iteration of President’s Choice to whiskey enthusiasts who truly cherish exceptional taste," said Master Taster Melissa Rift. "Our process of tasting each barrel is rooted in the history of this label, and this year’s release is no exception."

The national debut will go live at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday, June 13. Bottles will be available for in-person purchase at Old Forester Distillery in Louisville and through the brand’s online store at shop.oldforester.com, with shipping limited to Washington, D.C., Kentucky, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and North Dakota.

"Bringing this coveted bottle to audiences means tasting for the highest, most extraordinary depth of our best barrels, which are always hand selected and tasted by us," said Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo. "Craftsmanship is at the heart of every Old Forester bottle and both this bourbon and rye selection are the peak expressions we offer."

READ THE STORY

Old Forester is Brown-Forman’s founding brand, established in 1870 by George Garvin Brown. The Louisville-based distiller has built President’s Choice into one of the American whiskey market’s most sought-after limited releases, with previous editions selling out rapidly upon launch.

The brand’s portfolio spans a wide range of expressions, from its flagship Old Forester 86 Proof Bourbon through its Whiskey Row Series and annual limited releases. Brown-Forman, the parent company, reported strong performance across its American whiskey portfolio in recent fiscal years, driven in part by consumer demand for premium and super-premium expressions.

Quantities of both President’s Choice bottles are expected to be extremely limited.
