The world’s best-selling scotch whisky brand has partnered with India’s first Paris Haute Couture Week designer to create a limited edition bottle celebrating Indian festivities.
Diageo-owned Johnnie Walker announced a collaboration with fashion designer Rahul Mishra for a special edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label bottle designed for the Indian festive season. The partnership marks the brand’s latest effort to blend luxury whisky with high-end fashion and cultural celebration.
The limited edition features intricate designs inspired by Indian flora and fauna, with what Mishra describes as “blooming flowers and spirited animals” adorning the bottle. A bright festive night scene symbolizes abundance and joy, reflecting themes central to Indian Diwali celebrations.
Speaking about Mishra’s work, Johnnie Walker Master Blender, Dr. Emma Walker, said: “This beautiful design by Rahul complements how special the whisky inside each bottle is, and brings to life the joy of celebrating with those close to you. Working with such a progressive and thoughtful artist, who cares so deeply about the power of craftsmanship, also feels like a fitting recognition of the talented people who have ensured Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s unwavering quality over decades.”
Johnnie Walker x Rahul Mishra Limited Edition Brings Fashion to Whisky
Mishra, known for his commitment to slow fashion and supporting local artisans, brings his design philosophy to the whisky world. He became the first Indian designer invited to show at Paris Haute Couture Week and has built a reputation for exquisite embroidery and masterful use of color.
“Johnnie Walker Blue Label has been a symbol of luxury and celebration for decades – not only in India but across the world – and learning more about the time and craftsmanship that goes into every bottle has been a wonderful journey,” Mishra said in a statement. “Slowing the process of craft and creating a sustainable eco-system for artisans is something close to my heart so sharing my philosophy with a brand with centuries of heritage and a lineage of craftspeople has been very special.”
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Targets Premium Market
Johnnie Walker Blue Label represents the brand’s ultra-premium offering. According to the company, only one in 10,000 casks from their reserves meets the standards required for Blue Label production.
“Johnnie Walker Blue Label is such a special Scotch whisky, and we’re proud that it takes pride of place at celebrations across the world,” says Dr Emma Walker, Johnnie Walker Master Blender. “It has a rich, smooth and luxurious flavour profile – fresh citrus and rose petals, giving way to dark chocolate, vanilla and hazelnut wrapped in warming smoke – perfect for toasting special occasions or pairing with aromatic, sweet celebratory dishes.”
The limited edition will be available globally and will serve as the centerpiece for Johnnie Walker Blue Label festive celebrations featuring Indian talent throughout October and November.
The partnership comes as whisky consumption continues to grow in India, now one of the world’s largest whisky markets. Premium and super-premium segments have shown particularly strong growth as Indian consumers increasingly embrace luxury spirits.
Diageo, which owns Johnnie Walker, has invested heavily in the Indian market in recent years. The company operates multiple distilleries in India and has localized production for several brands to meet growing demand.
The Mishra-designed bottles represent Johnnie Walker’s latest attempt to merge traditional Scottish whisky heritage with contemporary cultural celebrations, targeting both collectors and luxury gift buyers during India’s festive season.
