Green River Distilling Co. will release Green River Wheated Full Proof Bourbon across 25 U.S. markets beginning February 13. The new expression features the Kentucky distillery’s signature wheated mashbill at barrel strength with a suggested retail price of $49.99.
The bourbon uses Green River’s established recipe of 70% corn, 21% wheat, and 9% malted barley.
Initial batches will range from 109 to 116 proof, with the first release bottled at 109.3 proof (54.65% ABV).

READ THE STORY“Wheated Full Proof is our way of giving fans a richer, more intense experience of the wheated bourbon they already love,” said Dan Callaway, Master Blender.
The whiskey ages for five to seven years in the distillery’s clay tile warehouses in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Green River’s wheated bourbon recipe earned Best Overall Bourbon at the 2025 New York World Spirits Competition.
“We kept the same mashbill and the same commitment to balance, then selected and blended barrels that truly shine at barrel strength. The result is a more robust expression that still drinks like Green River,” Callaway added.
The release comes as wheated bourbon represents approximately one-third of the North American bourbon market, according to Allied Market Research.
Consumer demand has shifted toward higher proof offerings, with 100-plus proof bourbons increasingly dominating enthusiast rankings.
The 750ml bottles will feature Green River’s signature horseshoe design with a copper-accented tax strip to distinguish it from the core lineup.
“At Green River, it’s not about breaking new ground or dialing up the hype. Wheated Full Proof doubles down on our commitment to make the best of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey with uncompromising value,” said Callaway.
Green River Distilling Co., established in 1885, holds the distinction of being Kentucky’s 10th-oldest licensed distillery (DSP-KY-10).
The distillery serves as the westernmost stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and is part of Lofted Spirits, one of the largest American whiskey producers in the United States.
