Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville has partnered with Buffalo Trace to create a proprietary Eagle Rare private barrel selection for its on-property whiskey program. The collaboration will be introduced on October 22 through a Pappy Van Winkle x Buffalo Trace dinner at the South Carolina hotel.
The Eagle Rare Bohemian Private Select barrel will become a permanent part of the whiskey offer at the lodge’s Spirit & Bower lounge, rather than a one-off event pour.
Spirit & Bower, an indoor-outdoor bourbon lounge overlooking the Reedy River, currently carries 136 whiskey and bourbon labels. The list includes around 50 to 60 exclusive expressions, according to the property.

READ THE STORYThe lodge’s team travels to distilleries to taste and select private barrels, purchasing whole casks to create limited bottlings for guests. The Buffalo Trace collaboration adds a proprietary selection from Eagle Rare, the Kentucky straight Bourbon brand produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery.
The launch dinner will be held at Between the Trees, the lodge’s restaurant, and will feature rare Van Winkle pours paired with a multi-course menu. Sazerac master distiller and director of distillation and aging operations Brian Prewitt will lead the evening.
Sazerac-owned Buffalo Trace produces several American whiskey brands at its Kentucky distillery, including Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Eagle Rare and Weller. It also distills and ages the Van Winkle whiskeys in partnership with the Van Winkle family.
The dinner menu will open with house-smoked South Carolina coppa, aged Manchego and rosemary, served alongside a seasonal Buffalo Trace cocktail. Subsequent courses include country pork and pistachio terrine with Pappy Van Winkle 15-year-old, pecan-crusted trout with Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye 13-year-old, and bison Wellington paired with Old Rip Van Winkle 10-year-old and Pappy Van Winkle 20-year-old.
Dessert will comprise chocolate brownie, salted Marcona almonds, black cherry ice cream and grated dark chocolate, served with the Eagle Rare Bohemian Private Select barrel.
The property said its whiskey program is designed to be approachable, with a menu that moves from lighter pours to more complex expressions. Bartenders also guide guests through nosing, tasting and understanding each whiskey.
The collaboration forms part of Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville’s broader food-and-drink positioning, which connects national whiskey producers with South Carolina ingredients and hospitality.
