The Glenturret has unveiled Eclosion, a new limited-edition single malt defined by contrast and careful cask composition. Limited to 4,650 bottles worldwide, the release became available May 27 2026, through the distillery’s website, its on-site shop, selected UK retailers, and global distribution partners.
The expression takes its name from the concept of emergence. The distillery describes the whisky as capturing “a point where depth gives way to brightness, where structure and luminosity exist in balance.”

Eclosion was matured predominantly in European oak PX sherry casks. A single American oak puncheon within the maturation contributes what the distillery calls “a subtle radiance that lifts the whisky beyond expectation.”
The Glenturret said the release is “proof that influence is not always defined by proportion, but by precision.”
Bottled at 46.2% ABV, Eclosion carries a recommended retail price of £95.
The official tasting notes from the brand describe “bright pineapple and citrus compote” on the nose, “layered with vanilla cream and a gentle trace of ginger-spiced oak.” The palate opens with “vibrant citrus fruits, unfolding into further layers of pineapple and hints of orange oil, before soft oak emerges, lightly dusted with cinnamon.” The finish is described as “warming and fruit-led, carried by elegant, well-integrated oak that lingers with quiet composure.”
Whisky maker Bob Dalgarno oversaw the creation of the expression.
The distillery stated that Eclosion “demonstrates how careful cask selection can create both depth and brightness within a single expression, without one ever overpowering the other.”
Based in Crieff, Perthshire, The Glenturret traces its origins to 1763 and claims to be Scotland’s oldest working distillery. The site has undergone significant investment in recent years, including a partnership with two-Michelin-star restaurant Lalique, which opened at the distillery in 2021.
The release reflects The Glenturret’s ongoing commitment to small-batch production. The distillery said its approach prioritizes “quality and intent over scale,” with considered releases forming a central pillar of its strategy.
Eclosion joins a growing portfolio of limited expressions from The Glenturret, which has steadily built its reputation in the premium single malt category under the ownership of the Lalique Group.
