Glenfiddich and Aston Martin have launched Glenfiddich 28 Year Old, a limited-edition single malt scotch whisky made by the Speyside distillery and the British luxury carmaker. The companies announced the release in New York on November 4, and it will go on sale at US retailers nationwide in January 2027.
Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman made the whisky with what the brand calls “highly active casks.”
“For Glenfiddich 28 Year Old, I wanted to bring Glenfiddich and Aston Martin’s philosophy of perpetual motion to life,” said Kinsman.

The liquid first matured in American oak. It then had a second maturation in virgin oak, which the company says adds “deep spice and vanilla sweetness.”
Kinsman combined this spirit with whisky from European oak Oloroso sherry-seasoned hogsheads. Traditional ex-bourbon casks add the distillery’s orchard fruit character to the final blend.
Bottled at 43.7% ABV, the whisky shows “creamy toffee, vanilla shortcake and cotton candy sweetness” on the nose, according to the official notes from the brand. The palate offers “strong oak tannin balanced by delicate vanilla sweetness.” The brand describes the finish as “very oaky with a tangy warming spice.”
Glenfiddich filled the casks in the late 1990s. At the time, Aston Martin was developing the Project Vantage concept car, which later became the basis for its Vanquish flagship.
Aston Martin’s design team helped create the packaging. The box uses the carmaker’s Podium Green color, copper finishes and Glenfiddich’s stag emblem.
Stefano Saporetti, director of brand diversification for Aston Martin, said: “This special edition celebrates the values that unite Aston Martin and Glenfiddich: craftsmanship, creativity and continual refinement.”
“The result is a beautifully crafted collector’s piece that reflects the heritage, ambition and enduring character of both brands,” he added.
The MSRP is $899 (£669 / ₹85,216). William Grant & Sons owns Glenfiddich. William Grant founded the family-owned company in Dufftown in 1887, and the whisky still comes from the distillery he and his children built by hand. The group’s portfolio also includes The Balvenie, Monkey Shoulder and Hendrick’s Gin.
