The Glasgow Distillery has launched a limited edition 9-year-old peated single malt exclusively with The Whisky Shop, marking the end of the distillery’s tenth anniversary year. The release comprises just 180 bottles available only at The Whisky Shop’s Buchanan Galleries and Princes Square locations in Glasgow city center.

Glasgow 1770 The Whisky Shop Exclusive underwent initial maturation for three years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels.

The whisky then spent an additional six years and three months in a virgin American white oak hogshead from Kelvin Cooperage, Kentucky.

According to official tasting notes from the brand, the expression delivers dark fruits, toffee, salted caramel, BBQ smoke, bright orange zest, and a lasting oak spice finish.

The whisky is bottled at 54% ABV, non-chill filtered, and presented at natural color.

“Working with The Whisky Shop has allowed us to bring a little bit of our distillery into the heart of Glasgow this festive season,” said Mike Hayward, founder of The Glasgow Distillery.

“We hope that this special and unique limited edition brings joy to those who discover it, whether they are seasoned whisky enthusiasts or looking for the perfect gift to share with family and friends.”

The Whisky Shop’s Buchanan Galleries location features a special window display showcasing The Glasgow Distillery.

The release follows a significant year for The Glasgow Distillery, which celebrated a decade of whisky production in February 2025 with its first 10-Year-Old whisky release.

That commemorative bottling sold out in under 20 minutes.

The distillery has expanded its Glasgow 1770 Core Range this year with Glasgow 1770 Ruby Port Cask Finish and Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask Matured.

Additionally, the distillery opened its doors to public tours for the first time since its establishment in 2012.

Glasgow 1770 The Whisky Shop Exclusive is priced at £85 per bottle.
