Garrison Brothers Distillery will host a game-day tailgate event on Saturday 17 October 2026 to celebrate the release of its PX Finished and Oloroso Finished Cask Strength Single Barrels. The event will take place at the distillery in Hye, Texas, with gates opening at 8am CT.
The two new expressions build on the distillery’s Ranch Reserve Series, which launched in June 2026 with two inaugural eight-year bourbons finished in PX and Oloroso sherry casks.
The cask strength single barrels are drawn from the same original production lot as those inaugural releases.

READ THE STORYThe bourbon spent four years in new American oak, followed by another four years in first-fill PX or Oloroso sherry casks.
Master distiller Donnis Todd chose to hold back 27 standout barrels because of their distinctive character.
These include 14 PX barrels ranging from 122.0 to 135.2 proof, and 13 Oloroso barrels ranging from 124.6 to 136.7 proof.
“Every now and then, a few barrels tell you they’re not meant to be blended away,” said Todd. “These PX and Oloroso ‘troublemakers’ had the depth, structure, and cask-strength character we look for in a true standout, so we bottled them exactly as they came out of the barrel.”
Approximately 3,000 bottles of each expression were produced. Of these, 984 bottles of each will be available at the October event, with the remainder allocated to select retail partners nationwide.
Each bottle will identify its specific barrel number and proof. The bourbon is bottled uncut, unfiltered, and non-chill filtered.
The single barrels will be sold separately for $189.99 (£140) per bottle.
The tailgate will feature watch screens for the Texas Longhorns vs Florida Gators game, with kickoff planned for approximately 11am CT.
Food and beverage specials will include Frito Pie, chili cheese hot dogs, and brisket nachos, alongside cornhole, yard Jenga, and live music.
The family- and dog-friendly event is open to all, with the Whiskey Shack and Gift Shop open throughout the day.
