Garrison Brothers has announced that its 2026 Cowboy Bourbon will be released at its distillery in Hye, Texas, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The first 1,000 bottles of the cask-strength, uncut, and unfiltered Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey will go on sale at 8 a.m. that day.
The 2026 edition marks the 12th release of Cowboy Bourbon. It was bottled at 141 proof, with 16,000 bottles produced.
Each barrel was hand-selected by Master Distiller Donnis Todd and aged for at least eight years. The marked barrels are set aside for additional maturation in the Texas climate.

First released in 2013, Cowboy Bourbon helped put Garrison Brothers and Texas on the national bourbon map.

The distillery’s 2025 Cowboy Bourbon earned a Platinum medal at the 2026 ASCOT Awards and a Double Gold medal at the 2026 SIP Awards.
The 2026 Cowboy Bourbon will be available at select bars, restaurants, and retailers nationwide from October 1, 2026, at a suggested retail price of $249.99.
A limited allocation of 279 bottles will also be sold through the Garrison Brothers e-commerce store from Friday, September 18, 2026, with purchases limited to one bottle per order. Engraving will be available.
The September 12 release event is family and dog-friendly. Guests can enjoy live music, bottle signings, specialty cocktails, bourbon tastings, and distillery tours.
Founded in 2006 by Dan and Nancy Garrison, Garrison Brothers is the first and oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas. Its bourbon first entered the market in 2010 and is now available nationwide and in five countries, with more than 800 awards to its name.
