Garrison Brothers 2026 Lady Bird Bourbon: Honey & Cognac Finish

Garrison Brothers Distillery will release 7,000 bottles of its 2026 Lady Bird Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey, infused with honey and finished in cognac casks, alongside a limited Lady Bird Cask Strength Single Barrel edition. The first 2,000 bottles will be available on Saturday, April 4, at the distillery in Hye, Texas, starting at 8 a.m.

The Hye, Texas-based distillery first launched Lady Bird in 2023 as a tribute to Lady Bird Johnson and her commitment to Texas native wildflowers and the environment.

Since 2023, Garrison Brothers has donated $5 for every bottle of Lady Bird bourbon sold to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas. The initiative has raised more than $100,000 to date.

READ THE STORY

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, part of The University of Texas at Austin, is a Texas nonprofit dedicated to preserving North America’s native plants.

Lady Bird bourbon begins as Garrison Brothers Small Batch, aged four years in new white American oak barrels. It is then infused with Burleson’s Texas Wildflower Honey for an additional eight to nine months to create the distillery’s cask strength HoneyDew. The liquid is then transferred into French Cognac XO casks to mature for an additional three years. The 2026 Lady Bird is bottled at 114 proof, and each bottle is hand-sealed with Prairie Purple wax.

Master Distiller Donnis Todd described Lady Bird bourbon as “a harmonious marriage of honey and cognac flavors.” Official tasting notes from the brand describe aromas of freshly cut grass and sweet Texas honey with hints of black cocoa waffle cone and honey wafers. The palate offers warm buckwheat pancakes and dark chocolate-covered cherries alongside malted milk balls, with a finish of cognac-soaked cherries, dried figs, and plums.

“Our Garrison Brothers Lady Bird bourbon continues to honor the legacy of Lady Bird Johnson, a dear friend of my family for many years, and the many gifts she gave us,” said Nancy Garrison, co-founder of Garrison Brothers. “We are honored to continue supporting special programs at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center through this upcoming release. I’m especially excited for y’all to try this year’s Lady Bird Cask Strength.”

In 2025, Lady Bird earned Platinum awards at the Miami Global Spirits Awards and SIP Awards, and Double Gold at the Proof Awards and the American Crafts Spirits Competition.

After the April 4 release event, remaining bottles will reach select retail, restaurant, and bar accounts nationwide beginning in May 2026. A limited allocation will also be available through the Garrison Brothers online store on Monday, April 13, 2026. The 2026 Lady Bird carries a suggested retail price of $179.99 (£138), while the Cask Strength edition is priced at $189.99 (£146).

Founded in 2006 by Dan and Nancy Garrison, Garrison Brothers was the first legal whiskey distillery in Texas and the first distillery outside Kentucky to produce bourbon whiskey. The distillery now offers nine expressions available in five countries and has earned more than 800 awards.
