Frey Ranch Distillery has debuted Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Rye, a six-year-old cask strength whiskey that becomes the newest permanent addition to the Nevada distillery’s flagship portfolio. The 124.52-proof rye is available now for $79.99 exclusively through the brand’s online whiskey shop and at the Frey Ranch Tasting Room in Fallon, Nevada.

The new expression joins Frey Ranch Four Grain Bourbon, Frey Ranch Bottled-in-Bond Straight Rye, and Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Bourbon in the distillery’s core lineup.

Frey Ranch is one of the few true farm-to-glass American whiskey distilleries in the United States. The operation grows, harvests, mills, and distills all of its grains on its 2,500-acre farm in Northern Nevada.

The Farm Strength Uncut Rye is made from a mashbill of 100% Canadian Winter Rye, a variety suited to cold-weather environments. Northern Nevada temperatures can drop to single digits during winter months. Bottled at cask strength without dilution, the whiskey is produced entirely from slow-grown grains cultivated on-site by co-founder and whiskey farmer Colby Frey.

“Our Farm Strength Uncut Bourbon has outperformed even our wildest expectations since we launched it in the summer of 2023, so it made logical sense for us to expand our cask strength core offerings with a rye whiskey – especially as ultra-premium ryes defy the category downturn and are experiencing substantial growth within the overall American Whiskey industry,” said Colby Frey.

Official tasting notes from the brand describe a mild floral bouquet on the nose with hints of root beer and candy cinnamon. The palate is reminiscent of cream soda and coffee beans, while the finish delivers dried mint and fresh rye grain. The distillery recommends enjoying the whiskey neat or on the rocks.

Frey Ranch is a proud member of the University of Kentucky’s Estate Whiskey Alliance (EWA). Colby Frey, along with master distiller Russell Wedlake, built the distillery from a desire to create distinctive whiskey from grains the Frey family has grown for generations.

The family motto, “Be good to the land and the land will be good to you,” is embossed on the bottom of each bottle of Frey Ranch Whiskey.

Earlier this year, Frey Ranch launched a subscribe-and-save service called “Harvest the Savings,” offering quarterly, bimonthly, or monthly discounts ranging from 5% to 15% on its core whiskeys. The Farm Strength Uncut Rye will join that program later this year.
