Filmland Spirits has released The Crimson Cask, a 90-proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey available exclusively at retailers in Kentucky. The Los Angeles-based brand announced the new expression on May 13, positioning it as a tribute to the state where its products were first sold.

"Apart from being the most important bourbon market in the U.S., Kentucky has been a great state for Filmland Spirits," said Troy Bolotnick, founder and CEO. "Consumers and influencers have embraced our efforts to change the face of the bourbon aisle and more importantly have fallen in love with our liquid."

Bolotnick described the release as a gesture of gratitude. "Crimson Cask is our way to say thanks," he said.
In Kentucky, Filmland Spirits is distributed by Heritage Wine & Spirits.
Official tasting notes from the brand describe The Crimson Cask as "classic and balanced with cherry vanilla on the nose, cornbread and caramel on the tongue and legs for days." The brand recommends it neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail, noting that "this mysterious blend keeps its darkest secrets for the finish."

True to the company’s cinematic identity, The Crimson Cask features an original B-movie narrative. The bottle’s label tells the story of Scarlett Cross, a distillery debutante whose bourbon baron father is found dead beneath a barrel with her name scrawled in blood across the staves.
Filmland Spirits launched in 2022 with a concept that pairs American whiskey with immersive, fictional movie-poster packaging.
