Fielden Whisky’s groundbreaking partnership with Groundswell Festival 2025 marks a significant moment for sustainable agriculture and craft spirits production in the UK. The English whisky producer, which champions chemical-free farming methods, will serve as the exclusive alcohol sponsor at the regenerative farming event this July.
Chemical-Free English Whisky Meets Sustainable Farming
The collaboration between Fielden and Groundswell, scheduled for July 2-3 at Lannock Farm in Hertfordshire, represents a natural alliance between two organizations committed to transforming British agriculture. Groundswell Festival, now in its ninth year, attracts farmers, environmentalists, and food producers focused on sustainable land management practices.

Fielden’s “No Chem Regen” approach aligns perfectly with the festival’s mission. The distillery plants diverse grains among clover, which acts as a natural fertilizer, avoiding all chemical inputs and minimizing soil disturbance. This method produces what the company describes in its official tasting notes as whisky with flavors of “warm flaky pastry, butter and caramel.”
The festival will feature over 400 speakers and 200 sessions covering regenerative farming systems and conservation agriculture. Fielden will operate the event’s only whisky bar and offer tastings at its dedicated stand, as well as being the sole whisky available at The Earthworm Arms, the festival’s main bar.
English Whisky Banquets Celebrate Field-to-Glass Philosophy
Festival attendees can purchase tickets for two special evening banquets on July 1 and 2, titled “Feasting from Field to Table.” These events, priced at $91 (£70) per person, include a three-course meal by Salsa Rosa and guided whisky tastings led by Fielden’s Whisky Maker, Chico Rosa.
“Groundswell represents the future of food and farming in the UK. It’s where progressive ideas take root. We’re proud to support that mission and bring Fielden’s own vision of soil-first spirits to the heart of the community driving it forward,” said Dave Smith, Fielden CEO.
The banquets will showcase how Fielden’s diverse grain varieties, including heritage and organic strains adapted for low-input systems, contribute to both farming resilience and whisky flavor. Tickets are only available to Groundswell Festival ticket holders.
This partnership comes as consumer interest in sustainable spirits production continues to grow globally. The collaboration demonstrates how traditional industries like whisky-making can embrace regenerative agriculture principles while maintaining product quality. For Fielden, the sponsorship represents an opportunity to connect directly with the farming community that shares its vision for chemical-free agriculture and biodiversity preservation.
