Free Whiskey Samples
The limited campaign provides 350 sample packs on a first-come, first-served basis through Douglas Laing’s digital redemption portal. New customers and subscribers can choose from four regional expressions: Big Peat from Islay, Scallywag from Speyside, Rock Island from the Islands, and Timorous Beastie from the Highlands. Each sample includes a flavor guide to help consumers navigate the distinct regional characteristics.
The official tasting notes describe Big Peat as featuring “bold, earthy peat smoke,” while Scallywag offers “rich chocolate, warming spice and dried fruits.” Rock Island presents “coastal character, zesty citrus and gentle smoke,” and Timorous Beastie delivers “sweet malt, heather honey and gentle spice.”
Regional Whiskey Collection
Douglas Laing’s Regional Malts series showcases Scotland’s five whisky-producing regions through carefully crafted blends. The Glasgow-based independent bottler, founded in 1948, has built its reputation on selecting and blending whiskies that capture each region’s distinctive profile.
“We’re always looking for innovative ways to bring our Whisky closer to consumers,” said Cara Laing, Managing Director of Douglas Laing & Co. “This campaign allows new Whisky drinkers to explore the distinct styles of our Regional Malts and, importantly, to discover which dram resonates with their palate.”
The sampling program arrives as Scotch whisky faces increased competition from American bourbon and Irish whiskey in key markets. Industry data shows younger consumers often prefer sampling before purchasing full bottles, particularly for premium spirits.
