Independent bottler Copper & Cask has unveiled two new limited-edition releases in its ongoing Small Batch Series lineup. Small Batch Series 15, a 21-year hazmat cigar blend whiskey, and Small Batch Series 16, an 11-year straight bourbon, are both launching this month.
Small Batch Series 15 is a blend drawn from 17 whiskey barrels distilled in Alberta, Canada. The liquid was aged over 20 years in original oak before being transferred into Armagnac and Tawny Port casks at Copper & Cask’s facility for an approximate six-month finishing period.

The final blend was bottled at a cask strength of 157.8 proof, placing it firmly in “hazmat” territory — a term used in the whiskey community for bottlings that exceed the 140-proof threshold prohibited in airline carry-on luggage.
Approximately 3,000 bottles of Small Batch Series 15 will be available at a suggested retail price of $79.99 (£60).
Small Batch Series 16 takes a different direction, offering an 11-year straight bourbon crafted from 24 high-rye bourbon barrels containing a 36% rye mashbill. The barrels were distilled and primarily matured in Indiana before being brought to Copper & Cask’s operation in Rhode Island.
There, the barrels were hand-selected and blended to create the final expression. Production is limited to 2,700 bottles at a suggested retail price of $84.99 (£64).
Copper & Cask has built a growing reputation in the independent bottling space, specializing in sourcing, finishing, and blending whiskey from established distilleries across North America. The Rhode Island-based operation has released a steady cadence of limited small batch and single barrel offerings, attracting attention from collectors and enthusiasts seeking unique cask-finished expressions.
The brand’s Small Batch Series has become a signature part of its portfolio, with each numbered release featuring a distinct blend profile, cask treatment, or proof point. Both new releases continue that approach, pairing extended aging with careful barrel selection.
Small Batch Series 15 and 16 are expected to be available through Copper & Cask’s distribution network this month. Given the limited bottle counts on both expressions, availability may be constrained across retail channels.
