Chattanooga Whiskey has unveiled its latest seasonal release, Bottled in Bond: Spring 2022, a blend built around a new five-grain mash bill designated SB112. The Tennessee distillery will release the whiskey at its Experimental Distillery on May 14, 2026, with wider distribution to follow across 21 states at $52.99 for a 750ml bottle.

READ THE STORYThe Spring 2022 Vintage marks one of the simplest constructions in the Bottled in Bond series, using only two mash bills. SB112, developed in early 2017, was first released as an Experimental Single Barrel in mid-2021 before being scaled to the company’s larger Riverfront Distillery in spring 2022.
The mash bill contains three types of dark caramel malt: cara aroma malt, caramel bohemian malt, and extra special caramel malt. These malts are roasted at higher temperatures to add layers of dark caramel richness while preserving the character of the distillery’s signature Barrel 91 recipe.

“Every new mash bill we create goes through four years of testing at our Experimental Distillery before we even consider scaling it to our Riverfront Distillery for Bottled in Bond,” said Grant McCracken, founding distiller. “True to style, every Bottled in Bond release is four years old, but every mash bill has gone through eight years of development before it ends up in a vintage blend.”
Every component was distilled and barreled between January and June 2022 at the Riverfront Distillery, in accordance with the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897. The blend was crafted through a collaborative, multi-month process involving multiple rounds of blind tastings conducted by the full distilling team.
“Mash bills and collaborative blending have always been our team’s super power,” McCracken said. “Spring vintages are meant to taste more like spring, fall vintages taste more like fall, and every single vintage blend is made to say something new.”

This release marks the series’ 10th vintage across five years. A new blue closure has been introduced to highlight the seasonal, limited nature of the lineup.
Official tasting notes from the brand include cherry danish, crème caramel, orange blossom honey, and black tea.
Limited quantities will also be available online at Seelbachs.com. Distribution states include Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, New York, Texas, and others.
Founded in 2011, Chattanooga Whiskey successfully campaigned to change Tennessee law, winning the right to distill whiskey in Chattanooga for the first time in over a century. The company was recently named Craft Producer of the Year for 2026 by Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky.
