Islay distillery Bruichladdich has launched its first ready-to-drink range, a four-SKU collection of full-strength canned cocktails developed in collaboration with bartender-founded RTD specialist Whitebox. The limited run features serves built on three of the distillery’s spirits — The Botanist gin, The Classic Laddie and Port Charlotte — and is available now through Bruichladdich’s website and distillery shop.

The range includes a Dry Martini (33.9% ABV) and White Negroni (21.8% ABV) made with The Botanist, a Whisky Sour (19% ABV) built on the unpeated Classic Laddie, and a Penicillin (22.5% ABV) using the heavily peated Port Charlotte.

Each cocktail has been structured to replicate a classic bar serve in both composition and strength, with ABVs significantly above typical RTD benchmarks. The Dry Martini is designed to be stored in the freezer prior to serving.

The range has already earned recognition at the International Wine & Spirits Competition. The Port Charlotte Penicillin secured Gold with 97 points. The Botanist Dry Martini received Silver with 90 points, while the Whisky Sour and White Negroni each earned Bronze with 86 points.

Gareth Brown, global marketing director at Bruichladdich, said the launch forms part of a broader innovation strategy in the distillery’s 25th anniversary year. “The ready-to-serve category has evolved significantly, and there’s now a clear opportunity at the premium end for products that genuinely reflect the quality of the underlying spirit,” he said. “What’s exciting about this range is that it allows us to showcase The Botanist, Classic Laddie and Port Charlotte in a completely new context, without compromising on flavor or integrity.”

Brown added: “Working with Whitebox was critical — their understanding of cocktail structure and balance, combined with our focus on ingredient provenance and distillation, has enabled us to create drinks that feel authentic to both worlds.”

Whitebox, known for its focus on classic cocktail formats, has largely avoided brand partnerships to date. The collaboration marks its first with a distillery.

Josh Rennie, co-founder at Whitebox, said: “We turn down almost every collaboration opportunity, so for us this had to be about more than putting a name on a can. With Bruichladdich, there was a genuine alignment around quality, provenance and doing things properly.”

He added: “If someone orders a Martini, it has to taste like a Martini. That sounds obvious, but it’s something the category hasn’t always got right. What we’ve done here is focus on precision and recognizable flavor.”

The initial release is limited to approximately 5,000 cans of each cocktail. The range retails at £6 per can at the distillery or £20 for a four-pack via bruichladdich.com.
