Blue Run x Indy 500 Limited-Edition High Rye Bourbon Release

Blue Run Spirits has announced a limited-edition release of its Kentucky Straight High Rye Bourbon Whiskey in collaboration with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). The Indiana-exclusive bottle, timed for the lead-up to the Indianapolis 500, launched on May 18, 2026, and is available at select retailers throughout the state.

The expression is bottled at 111 proof and has earned Platinum and Gold honors at the ASCOT Awards, TAG Global Spirits Awards, and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The collectible bottle features Blue Run’s signature French cut glass and hand-applied Viceroy butterfly medallion, reimagined with a checkered flag pattern. The neck label carries IMS’s official wing-and-wheel insignia, and the screen print contains precious metal elements. A commemorative tax strip over the cork closure completes the design.

"Celebrating the Indy 500 with friends and family is one of the best traditions at IMS," said J. Douglas Boles, president of INDYCAR and IMS. "This limited-edition packaging lets our fans take home a little piece of that celebration to enjoy throughout the Month of May."

Quantities are described as highly limited, with distribution confined exclusively to Indiana.

"From Georgetown, Kentucky to Georgetown Road in Indianapolis, this partnership is rooted in a mutual respect for tradition and a relentless drive to push boundaries," said Katy McBrady, general manager of Blue Run Spirits. "This release is our way of honoring the entire Month of May through practice and qualifying weekend, to Miller Lite Carb Day alongside ‘Back Home Again In Indiana’ and each passing of the Yard of Bricks with a whiskey that stands up to each moment."

Official tasting notes from the brand describe praline and orange peel on the nose, with hints of cherry and tobacco. The palate offers brown sugar and nuttiness, complemented by white pepper and evolving into stone fruit and dried apricot. The finish is long and refined, with notes of herbal white tea, peach, and clove.

Founded in Georgetown, Kentucky, Blue Run Spirits has built a reputation for pairing award-winning bourbon with distinctive bottle design. The brand’s portfolio has collected multiple accolades across major international spirits competitions. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which opened in 1909, has hosted the Indianapolis 500 annually since 1911, making it one of the longest-running sporting events in the world. The collaboration marks a notable intersection of American whiskey culture and motorsport heritage.
