Blue Note Cherry Wood Cask Bourbon Debuts at Cask Strength

B.R. Distilling Company has launched Blue Note Cherry Wood Cask Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a limited release aged in American oak and finished in wild-cherry wood casks from the Jura region of eastern France. The Memphis-based distiller has made approximately 1,000 cases available across six US states and online, priced at $64.99 (£48) per 750ml bottle.

The bourbon is bottled at cask strength, at 120 proof (60% ABV), and is unfiltered.

Its mash bill comprises 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley. The wild-cherry casks used for finishing were sustainably harvested from eastern France.

According to the brand, the expression “delivers a distinctive balance of depth and brightness.”

“With our new Cherry Cask, we set out to create something that honors the timeless character of great whiskey while introducing a fresh layer of complexity,” said Dan Jurkovic, national sales director at B.R. Distilling Co.

Jurkovic added: “The influence of the cherry cask nicely complements the whiskey’s natural richness while finishing the expression at cask strength helps preserve its underlying structure to balance the sweetness.”

He continued: “It’s an elegant expression that offers whiskey enthusiasts something new to discover while remaining exceptionally approachable for those exploring premium whiskey for the first time.”

The Blue Note portfolio is designed to honor the blues music associated with Memphis. Its flagship range includes Juke Joint ($34.99/£26), Toasted ($44.99/£33), Uncut ($49.99/£37), and Straight Rye Whiskey ($34.99/£26).

Recent limited releases have included Premium Small Batch, Single Barrel Reserve, Special Reserve, a 17-year expression, and Honey Rye and Honey Bourbon Cask variants.

Cherry Wood Cask is available online via Seelbach’s and in the states of Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, and Tennessee.

Founded in 2014, B.R. Distilling Company is the oldest licensed distillery in Memphis. The producer distributes its five flagship expressions across more than 25 US states, plus Washington, DC, and ships online via BlueNoteBourbon.com.
