READ THE STORYMark Erwin, CEO of parent company Lofted Spirits, said: “Earning ENERGY STAR certification is yet another reflection how we’re building for the future.”
“As our industry continues to evolve, we’re making intentional investments in energy efficiency, performance, and responsible production that position us for long-term success,” he continued.
The certification is awarded to facilities that meet strict energy performance levels set by the EPA, signifying leadership within their respective industries.
Erwin added: “Efficiency isn’t just good for the environment, it’s smart business.”
“This is just one way that we continue to compete and grow without compromising the quality and consistency that defines Lofted Spirits.”
According to the company, the distillery has more than doubled its production capacity since 2018.
Despite this major expansion, Bardstown Bourbon Company now uses 30% less energy overall.
This efficiency is achieved by implementing technology that captures and redeploys heat generated during the distillation process.
Lofted Spirits confirmed it will continue to manage energy strategically across its organization to make further cost-effective improvements to its plant.
