Isle of Arran Distillers has launched a selection of fully matured, 10-year-old peated Arran Single Malt casks. The release celebrates the 20-year anniversary of Cask Sales Manager Gillian Snaddon with the company.
The offer follows last year’s limited-edition Palo Cortado Sherry cask release, which marked the distiller’s 30th anniversary.

The casks are 10-year-old Arran Single Malt first-fill Bourbon peated casks. They were filled in 2016 with spirit distilled from 20ppm Scottish barley. Each cask is priced at £10,500. Every cask has been re-gauged this year and contains approximately 92 to 105 regauged litres of alcohol. All purchases include five years of storage and insurance.
The peated spirit is significant because production of this style at Lochranza distillery concluded in 2017. This coincided with the purchase of land for the construction of the sister distillery at Lagg, which now focuses on heavily peated single malt.

For a few weeks each year over the last decade, the stills at Lochranza produced peated spirit. Whisky drinkers have enjoyed this style in the form of Machrie Moor Single Malt.
Founded in 1995, Isle of Arran Distillers began as an effort to restore whisky-making to the island. The company now operates two distilleries: Lochranza in the north and Lagg in the south.

“Not every day I get to present aged single malt whisky casks, especially ones as unique as these peated ones,” said Gillian Snaddon, Bulk Stock & Cask Sales Manager at Isle of Arran Distillers. “Knowing that this style of spirit is no longer produced, they really represent a true piece of irreplaceable Arran history.”
She added, “What a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the past 20 years, my journey as well as the whisky we produce, and to mark the occasion with such a superb offer for our existing cask owners and new customers alike.”
