Archie Rose Australian Whiskies Hit US with Chris Hemsworth

Archie Rose Distilling Co. will bring three core whiskies to the United States for the first time, beginning Friday, October 23. The Sydney-based distillery, co-owned by actor Chris Hemsworth, is launching its Single Malt Australian Whisky, Straight Rye Malt Whisky and an evolved Australian Original Whisky across the US market.

The release marks the distillery’s first entry into the US, with all three expressions showcasing Australian-grown grains.

It follows an August announcement that Hemsworth had joined founder Will Edwards as co-owner of the business.

Hemsworth has played a leading role in reimagining the brand’s identity, including a custom flask-shaped bottle featuring textured glass inspired by the land where the grains are grown. The lighter glass and streamlined packaging reduce weight and improve freight efficiency, supporting the certified B Corp’s sustainability commitments.

“This new chapter stays true to what has always defined Archie Rose: making exceptional whisky in Australia, from Australian-grown ingredients, with a genuine sense of place,” said Will Edwards, founder and co-owner of Archie Rose. He added: “We’ve spent the last twelve years refining our whiskies and we now have a portfolio and brand identity that reflects our Australian grown and made heritage.”

To mark the launch, Archie Rose will roll out a global creative campaign written, directed and produced by Hemsworth, who stars alongside his brother Luke Hemsworth. The campaign film premieres on October 20 via Hemsworth’s YouTube channel and the Archie Rose website.

“Archie Rose embodies the very best of Australia—from raw local ingredients to the incredible passion of the team behind the stills,” Hemsworth said. “I’ve been a fan of Archie Rose for years because, quite simply, they make brilliant whisky.”

All three whiskies are crafted at the Sydney distillery using Australian-grown grains. The distillery ferments, distills and matures each malt separately before combining them.

The whiskies are matured in a combination of Australian fortified wine barrels (apera), European oak and American oak casks, backed by 12 years of distilling experience and more than 50,000 casks under bond.

“Great whisky starts its life in the field,” said master distiller Dave Withers. “Partnering with Chris allows us to take that Australian craft to the global stage across our whisky range.”

The Straight Rye Malt Whisky ($49.99) is crafted from Australian-grown rye, bottled at 46% ABV and matured in charred virgin American oak. It has twice been named World’s Best Rye Whisky.

The Single Malt Australian Whisky ($59.99) is made with six Australian barley malts at 46% ABV and has been named Australia’s Best Single Malt Whisky five times.

The Australian Original Whisky ($39.99) is a marriage of the Straight Rye Malt and Single Malt expressions, bottled at 40% ABV.
