Whiskey contains approximately 56–61 kcal per 25ml (UK shot), around 97 kcal per 1.5 oz (U.S. shot), and roughly 1,568 kcal per 750ml bottle at 40% ABV.

The kcal in whiskey comes entirely from alcohol, as it contains no carbs, sugars, or fats.

Higher ABV whiskies, such as cask strength expressions between 48–57%, have proportionally more calories.

To keep the calorie count low, drink whiskey neat, with water, or with soda.
