As I am sure most of you will know by now, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey has released a new, flavored variant to its portfolio: Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry.

It blends the classic Jack Daniel’s whiskey base with sweet and tangy blackberry notes. It’s bottled at 35% ABV and already making waves in the U.S. and UK. Blackberry joins other flavored whiskeys such as Tennessee Fire, Tennessee Honey, and Tennessee Apple, all of which have their own charm, and proven ways of enjoying them.

So, with this new whiskey, the question becomes: how do you drink it? Neat, on the rocks, or (our favorite) in a cocktail. Below you’ll find five inspired recipes that let that blackberry character shine. No pretension, just lots of flavor.

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry: Why Blackberry, and Why Now?

Flavored whiskey has become a key part of today’s whiskey scene. It’s not for purists who drink neat, but for those who want something smooth, flavorful, and easy to mix.

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry delivers exactly that. It combines the familiar character of Old No. 7 with ripe blackberry sweetness, creating an approachable spirit with a lighter 35% ABV that’s perfect for cocktails or sipping over ice.

Brown-Forman, the company behind Jack Daniel’s, says its flavored range has “extended the brand’s appeal to new consumers and occasions.” Tennessee Blackberry continues that success, pairing beautifully with citrus, mint, and soda for fresh, vibrant serves.

Here are five easy recipes — from bartenders, whiskey fans, and Jack Daniel’s itself — that show just how versatile this new release can be.

Why Cocktails Matter for Flavored Whiskey

Flavored whiskey is no fad. It’s redefining how people drink whiskey. Between 2017 and 2022, flavored whiskey grew 11% outpacing unflavored whiskey, which rose just 3 percent in the same span (IWSR).

In the U.S., flavored whiskey accounted for 23% of all whiskey sales in 2023. That share reflects that people are choosing whisky in cocktail form, not just as a neat pour.

Cocktails give flavored whiskey its purpose. They make it accessible, adaptable, and fun. Tennessee Blackberry, with its fruity base, is tailor-made for that role.

Closing Thoughts

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry isn’t just another flavor on the shelf. It’s a reminder that whiskey can be relaxed, colorful, and creative. At around $22 in the U.S. and £25 in the UK, it’s affordable enough to experiment with. And that’s exactly the point.

Start with the five cocktails above, then make them your own. Add soda, switch up the citrus, or turn one into a punch. There’s no wrong approach.

Whiskey has always been about character, and Tennessee Blackberry shows that character can be playful, too. Grab a bottle, mix a drink, and taste what the newest Jack has to offer.
