Legendary musician, Sir Rod Stewart, and business partner Duncan Frew are celebrating their first International Whiskey Day (or ‘whisky’ depending on where the spirit comes from) following the launch of their blended scotch brand, Wolfie’s Whisky in June 2023.
The ‘Cockney Scotsman’ & Wolfie’s Whisky
Wolfie’s Whisky was established by the ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’ singer as a celebration of his early rock-n’-roll career and his “more mischievous days”. The brand also pays tribute to Stewart’s Scottish heritage (his father was a Scotsman), and his self-identified ‘Cockney Scotsman’ persona.
The blended scotch whisky is produced at the Loch Lomond Distillery, with single malt and single grain (wheat) combined and then matured in American ex-bourbon casks. This maturation process is a nod to the USA, where Stewart has achieved great musical success with 16 top-ten singles.

Wolfie’s Whisky’s First International Whiskey Day
Today (March 27th, 2024) marks Wolfie’s Whisky’s first International Whiskey Day. Every year, whisk(e)y fans from around the globe come together to celebrate their favorite tipple. Wolfie’s Whisky is marking the occasion with some carefully curated cocktails using its signature blend.
Raising a glass to Wolfie’s Whisky’s milestone, Rod Stewart said “Cheers, mate! We can’t think of a better subject to celebrate than whisky this year”.
Speaking about Wolfie’s Whisky’s global success since its launch in 2023, Duncan Frew remarked “Wolfie’s was inspired by Rod’s seminal rock ‘n’ roll roots, starting with his early hell raising days with the Faces, so we did the natural thing and put Wolfie’s on the road with Rod as he tours the world. Fans throughout the US, UK, Europe and Asia come in for a great Rod Stewart concert and we leave them with a great whisky”.

Wolfie’s Appletini (Rod Stewart’s favorite)
Ingredients:
- 35ml/1.5 oz of Wolfie’s Scotch Whisky
- 25ml/1 oz Apple Schnapps
- 50ml/2 oz Apple Juice
- A dash of Lemon Juice
Method:
- Using a cocktail shaker, add ice to chill the ingredients
- Pour Wolfie’s Whisky, Apple Schnapps, Apple Juice, and dash of Lemon Juice into the shaker
- Shake the mixture vigorously to blend the flavors and chill the ingredients.
- Strain the cocktail into a chilled glass, preferably a fancy to enhance the experience.
- Garnish with a slice of apple for an added touch of elegance.
Great Newport Street Sour
Ingredients:
- 70ml Wolfie’s Scotch Whisky
- 20ml ginger liqueur
- 45ml lime juice
- 45ml ginger syrup
- 1 egg white or 45ml aquafaba
- Splash of bitters
- Candied ginger (for garnish)
Method:
- Add all listed ingredients to a shaker – with no ice – and dry shake for 10 seconds. This helps emulsify the egg white or aquafaba.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake again for another 10 seconds to chill the mixture.
- Double-strain the mixture into your favorite whisky glass to remove any ice shards and achieve a smooth texture.
- Garnish with a piece of candied ginger for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.

Wolfie’s Punch
Ingredients:
- 750ml Wolfie’s Scotch Whisky
- 300ml Amaro
- 500ml Cranberry juice
- 1L Fresh orange juice
- 200ml Lime juice
- 100ml Grenadine
- 50ml Lime Juice
- 3 Vanilla pods split down the middle
- 3 Clementines, 3 limes and 3 lemons sliced in wheels
- 2 Bottles of Prosecco
Method:
- Combine all punch ingredients except prosecco in a large glass punch bowl. Refrigerate for two hours.
- Remove the bowl from the fridge and discard the vanilla pods.
- Throw in some ice cubes and serve into large glass goblets with ice.
- Top each glass up with prosecco.
