Ecopod, said Dieline recently, turned to Designers Anonymous, a creative studio out of London, to help brand a special batch of Springbank 10-year-old whisky as a limited edition gift for those who stay in one of its unique pod rooms located on Scotland’s west coast. The resulting design was rather interesting, labeling the bottles with a large Roman numeral X that communicates both the age of the Scotch and “its place of origin in Campbeltown on the coast of Argyll and Bute.”
The X label, when unfolded off the bottle, reveals a special map featuring “10 beautiful Scottish views” that encourage those with the whisky to “drink in the view.”

As for what’s in the bottle, it is a 57% ABV, 100 proof offering that is pretty much in line with Springbank’s higher octane 10-year-old Scotch. Tasting notes indicate on the nose “orchard fruit (pear) with a hint of peat, vanilla and malt.” When it hits the palate one should expect hints of “Malt, oak, spice, nutmeg and cinnamon, vanilla essence” that finishes “sweet with a lingering salty tingle.”
