This single malt is a solid sipper that’s approachable and not overly complex. It has a smooth texture and a moderate finish with an acceptable depth of flavor that’s well-balanced. Overall, this is an easy-sipping whiskey that’s well suited for use in hand crafted cocktails as well as drinking neat or on the rocks.

Let’s Get Lost Whiskey is an American single malt whiskey that was initially launched by the Dogfish Head Distilling Company in July of 2021. After much anticipation, this highly-awarded full proof spirit made its return in July of this year as a limited-edition, small-batch whiskey.

Bottled at 102 proof, Dogfish Head Let’s Get Lost American Single Malt Whiskey is distilled from a custom blend of pale malt, Crystal malt, coffee kiln malt and applewood smoke malt. It’s aged a little over three years in charred oak barrels. According to the brand’s official tasting notes, this single malt offers flavor notes of toasted oak, caramel and a touch of smoke along with hints of chocolate and sweet banana.

“The most intense of our spirits, Let’s Get Lost is meant to be sipped slowly and shared in the company of friends,” said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head Brewer & Founder in a prepared statement. “This whiskey’s layered, nuanced flavors arouse the senses, ushering you along an alluring, introspective journey of off-centered exploration.”

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery opened in 1995 in Rehoboth, Delaware, becoming one of the first smallest craft breweries in America. Founded by Sam and Mariah Calagione, Dogfish Head has since become the 12th largest brewpub in the US, with 300,000 barrels of beer produced annually and shipped to 37 states. In 2002, Dogfish Head became one of the first craft distilleries in the US when they started experimenting with distilled spirits at a time when only 30 other craft distilleries existed nationwide. Now there are over 3,000.

In 2020, Dogfish Head expanded their distillery and today, in addition to making whiskey, Dogfish Head Distilling Co. also produces award-winning gin, vodka, brandy, and ready-to-drink pre-made cocktails.

The name Dogfish Head came from a street sign that read Dogfish Head Road which founder Sam and his father noticed while out for a jog together one day. Sam’s father mentioned that Dogfish Head would make a good name, and the rest is history.

Some awards received by Dogfish Head Let’s Get Lost American Single Malt Whiskey include winning a Gold Medal at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, earning a 92 point rating by Whisky Advocate in 2022, and receiving Double Gold in the Denver International Spirits Competition in 2022.

Let’s Get Lost is currently available in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and Washington in 750ml bottles for an MSRP of $62.00.
