Tasting Notes

About:

Aged 3 to 4 years in charred American Oak. 100 proof (50% ABV). $69.99/750ml.
Appearance:
Rich orange with a yellow hue.
Nose:
Cinnamon and apple spice lightly assault the nose with cedar and anise rising behind. There are small amounts of dried fig lingering on the edges.
Palate:
Smooth and young, warm honey and nutmeg mix gently with caramel over spicy ginger. The middle of the palate has dried apricot, which gives way to stronger charred oak and malt flavors. The finish has a distinct sharp grassy taste, identified as eucalyptus.
Finish:
Comments:
A well balanced whiskey which straddles the line between bourbon and Scotch-style whisky. Whether you’re a veteran of either category or just getting into whiskey, this expression has something for every enthusiast. I would happily drink a glass if offered to me, but would be cautious of the high price of entry for a full bottle. rnrnHowever, I look forward to seeing Copperworks selling its product more locally and hope that they continue to explore the nuances of what American Single Malt Whiskey has to offer.
