Wildsam Announces New Guide: Kentucky Bourbon Country

Wildsam, the publisher of the award-winning Wildsam Field Guides, is releasing a new title in its Pursuits series, Kentucky Bourbon Country.

Wildsam launched in 2012 and has been bringing what the brand describes as world-class writing and deeply curated coverage to its places in the travel guide genre.

The new book about Kentucky is said to lead travelers into the heart of the state with its pastures, knobs, rivers and waterfalls. Local contributors include bourbon expert Maggie Kimberl, food and culture writer Ashlie Stevens, author and professor Jason Kyle Howard, activist and poet Hannah L. Drake, chiefs Ouita Michel and Same Fore, singer-songwriter Will Oldham, Affrilachian poet Frank X Walker and Maker’s Mark President Rob Samuels.

This edition features a deep, dedicated section on bourbon but also covers the public lands, horse country, caves, folkways and Louisville’s incredible park system. The guide is fully illustrated by local Kentucky artist Rachael Sinclair.

The Kentucky Bourbon Country guide in the Pursuits Series of Wildsam publishes on Monday, December 6, 2021.

GQ magazine described the Wildsam’s Field Guides as “soulful, gritty and just as relevant for locals as tourists,” and Conde Nast Traveler said the series “gets to the soul of a city.”
