Editor’s Note: We’ve teamed up with whiskey industry expert Robin Robinson, best known for his one-man show The Story of Whiskey, to bring you an occasional video series on whiskey topics. 

This episode will discuss the role of the column still in whiskey distillation: its origin, its function, the different names it goes by and some of the products that come from it.  The column still was the true “disruptor” in distilling technology and it has transformed not only the whiskey industry, but all industry where “fractional separation” is part of the process.
