Celebrate National Whiskey Sour Day August 25th With These Recipes
Do you love whiskey sours? If so, there’s a day for you to celebrate! National Whiskey Sour Day is August 25th. This classic whiskey cocktail, as we offer up in various recipes below provided to us by different brands, can be enjoyed classically or with slight variations, as well as with a range of whiskey styles and types.

New York Noble Sour:
- 2 oz Noble Oak Bourbon
- 1/2 oz Rich Simple Syrup
- 3/4 oz of Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 Egg White
- 1 oz Rich Red Wine

Combine all ingredients, except for wine in a shaker and shake for 15 seconds. Add a scoop of ice and shake for another 15 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass and top with a 1 oz red wine float.
The Blond Bomber:
- 2 oz. of Bradshaw Bourbon
- .75 oz. of lemon juice
- .75 oz. of simple syrup
- garnish with a cherry or lemon wedge

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake and strain into a rocks glass with ice and then add your preferred garnish.
Not Your Average Sour:
- 1.5 oz Stranahan’s Original
- .5 oz Mezcal
- .75 oz Orgeat syrup
- .5 oz Amaretto
- .75 oz Fresh lemon juice
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- Nutmeg

Combine Stranahan’s Original, Mezcal, orgeat syrup, amaretto, fresh lemon juice, and angostura bitters in a strainer and shake. Pour in a glassware of choice over ice and garnish with fresh grated nutmeg.
The Macallan Sour:
- The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old
- 20 ml lemon juice
- 10 ml brown sugar syrup
- Egg white
- Oloroso sherry float

Shake all ingredients, except sherry, into an ice filled shaker. Strain into glass over ice. Using a bar spoon, slowly layer the sherry over the top of the cocktail.
Chivas Extra 13 Sherry Cask Whiskey Sour:
- 2 parts Chivas Extra 13 Sherry Cask
- 1.5 part lemon juice
- 1 part ozs sugar syrup
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 egg white
- Lemon slice, to garnish
- Cherry, to garnish

Shake all ingredients together without ice. Add ice and shake again for approximately 10 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with lemon and cherry. Serve.
Strawberry Lemonade Whiskey Sour:
- 1 oz Lemon Juice
- 1 oz Simple Syrup
- 3 oz Bad Dog Bourbon Whiskey
- 4 large strawberries, hulled and chopped

Combine the strawberries, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Allow berries to release juice by sitting in the liquid at least 30 minutes. Add the strawberry mixture to the blender and run it on low. Add whiskey and swirl to combine. Pour over ice and serve.
