Teeling Single Malt, pricing around $55 a bottle, is described as consisting of “aged malt whiskey up to 23 years old that has been matured in five different wine casks including Sherry, Port, Madeira, White Burgundy and Cabernet Sauvignon.” This rather unique blending of cask types into the final product, as a result, provides for an expression that has a very distinctive, rich color while “imparting a vibrant and balanced flavour of dry fruits, citrus, vanilla, spice and cloves.”
This Irish single malt, which is only one of a handful of its type around the world, is non-age statement and bottled at 46% ABV with no chill filtration. More in-depth tasting notes for it are below courtesy of Teeling. As for availability, expect to see it appearing in various markets shortly.
