As Labor Day Weekend approaches, so does the end of summer, making this long weekend the perfect time to soak up the last days of summer with some curated cocktails. Cognac house, Rémy Martin, has created some classics with a cognac twist to help you make the most of the Labor Day Weekend celebrations. Enjoy them on the beach, by the pool, or in your backyard. 

Here are some of the best cocktail recipes crafted by and containing Rémy Martin cognac. 

The Rémy Mojito 

The Rémy Mojito is a French twist on the beloved classic Mojito cocktail. Traditionally made with white rum, the inclusion of Rémy Martin cognac introduces notes of plums and figs, the sweetness of which is cut through by fresh mint. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1.5 oz of Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal 
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice 
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup 
  • 1 oz sparkling water
  • A handful of mint 
  • A mint sprig for garnish 


Method: 

  1. Add all ingredients except for the sparkling water to a cocktail shaker as well as a small amount of pebbled ice. 
  2. Shake well.
  3. Pour the mixture into a collins glass. 
  4. Top with sparkling water and garnish with a mint sprig. 
  5. Enjoy! 


The Mint Julep 

Another twist on a classic, The Mint Julep. The Julep is traditionally made with bourbon. This recipe, however, swaps out the bourbon for Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac. The resulting cocktail is the perfect balance of sweet and sharp, and is the perfect refreshment for a hot summers Labor Day Weekend.

Method:

  1. Add eight mint sprigs to a mixing glass. 
  2. Add crushed ice and the Rémy Martin VSOP. 
  3. Shake until the glass becomes frosted. 
  4. Pour into a rocks glass or a julep cup. 
  5. Garnish with a mint sprig.
  6. Enjoy!

The Sidecar Cooler 

The Sidecar Cooler combines two classic cocktail families – the Cooler and the Sidecar – to create the perfect balance between the two. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 oz of Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal 
  • ½ oz Cointreau 
  • ½ oz Verjus 
  • ⅔ oz elderflower syrup 
  • Soda water 
  • Lemon for garnish 


Method:
 

  1. Combine the Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal with the Cointreau, Verjus, and elderflower syrup in a glass filled ice. 
  2. Top up with soda water. 
  3. Stir with a cocktail stirrer. 
  4. Garnish with lemon 
  5. Enjoy!
