About:

Wyoming Whiskey is big voice in an otherwise unassuming part of the U.S. Distilled and bottled in Kirby Wyoming, this bottle represents almost 20 years of lessons learned. Whiskey here takes a little extra time to mature in barrel, and a little extra attention to make just right. Wyoming Whiskey sources all of their ingredients from within the state. This release comes from specifically selected barrels allegedly from the top of the Wyoming Whiskey warehouses in Kirby. Being a specialty release the distribution is extremely limited.
Appearance:
Tawny in color like a deep copper.
Nose:
Tart green apples, cinnamon candies, bread, wheat grain. As it lingers in the glass deeper aromas of rich leather, cherries flambe, and molasses sugar. There is also an ever present smell of alcohol.
Palate:
Oak with lovely earth tones of char and cigar tobacco. Warmth, dry, and cloying to the teeth. Brown sugar cookies, rum cake, spiced fruit.
Finish:
Warm cigar smoke with the tingling oak and char. Lasting notes of 80% dark chocolate. Holds well on the tongue with a tingling sensation over the tongue.
Comments:
In Wyoming the environment is a little different from everywhere else. Especially dead center in the state just outside the Wind River canyon. It’s beautiful, my grandfather is from Meeteetse Wyoming (not far from Kirby by Wyoming standards) and I’ve spent many a summer traveling though the state.

This is a whiskey for a lover of full bodied whiskeys. At 60.5% abv, this is a heavy weight. Personally, I am a fan of what Wyoming Whiskey is about. I happened to be in Wyoming when they released their very first batch. Suffice to say all these years later, I still have most of that bottle. Wyoming Whiskey took the criticism of their initial release head-on and now, nearly two decades later, they’ve become a popular brand among enthusiasts. This offering demonstrates exactly how far they’ve come in that time and further potential for where they are going.
