The annual American single malt whiskey bottling which is known as the St. George American Single Malt Whiskey has been an early pioneer in this whiskey style since its first incarnation back in 2000. Crafted by St. George Spirits out of California, it was originally a pet project of head distiller Lance Winters that is now on its 18th incarnation.

Lot 18 is said to be making its way to retail already, coming in a 750 ml bottle and bottled at 43% ABV. You’ll find official tasting notes for it below, and this release joins the recent Breaking & Entering American Whiskey which was put out for sale last month.

On the nose, Lot 18 expresses cocoa, nutmeg, and honey. On the palate, find dark chocolate and a distinct brandied quality, as well as notes of Seville marmalade, toasted walnut, barley, and strong ale.
Sip neat to fully experience all the nuances and depth of flavor, or add nothing more than a single large ice cube. This is as good as whiskey gets.
