Each person’s flavor palate is as different and unique as their fingerprint. Your tastebuds are like memories of the tongue, changing and developing over time since the day you were born. According to Master Distiller Chris Morris, the new Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey was inspired by historical recipes and flavors so unique that you can expect those tastebuds to be tantalized in a variety of exciting new ways. And if it’s anything like what they’ve done for their bourbon, rye, and malt whiskies, it will not disappoint.
The Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey is a mildly sweet and lightly spiced fruit-forward whiskey that is 90.4 proof. It was cleverly designed by Morris with a mash bill of 52% wheat, 20% malt, 20% corn, and 8% rye. This new whiskey will be a permanent addition to the Woodford Reserve Collection and, as stated by Morris himself, it will “highlight our distillery’s commitment to creativity, innovation, and dedication to making the world’s best tasting whiskies”.
This wheat whiskey is exciting and new, yet maintains the vision of Woodford Reserve to bring forth all of the flavors of American whiskey that we have grown to know and love. I urge you to try it for yourself, just to experience the uniqueness of their recipe and take a little sip out of history.
