Tasting Notes

About:

The Singleton Glen Ord Into the Blue is a 17 year old limited edition and one of eight whiskies in Diageo’s Special Releases 2025. The cask make-up includes two types of barrel: Mexican ex-mezcal and second-fill Spanish sherry.
Appearance:
Medium gold with fine beading around the rim of the glass.
Nose:
Bright golden cereal. Flapjack with golden syrup. A biscuity note, like digestives. Rounded vanilla with dusty oak and wood spice in the background.
Palate:
Medium mouthfeel. Bright with oats and golden syrup, again like flapjack. A red apple note with orange peel. Warm stem ginger in syrup. More vanilla, with a backbone of oak and a pinch of spice.
Finish:
Long finish full of those rolled oats and golden syrup we found previously. Warm and alive, with a good dose of spice.
Comments:
Good quality single malt, with an enjoyable flapjack profile.
