A carefully crafted blend of Jameson whiskeys, Triple Triple Chestnut Cask introduces chestnut wood maturation alongside its core of bourbon cask influence and a hint of sherry. Part of the experimental Triple Triple range from Midleton, it explores the impact of alternative woods on Jameson’s smooth profile. Bottled at 40% ABV.
I’ve really enjoyed exploring this range from Jameson. While I don’t think the Chestnut Cask quite matches the standout character of the Malaga Cask, it delivers that signature ginger note beautifully before developing into a spicier expression of Jameson. It’s an excellent choice for fans of spiced rum, offering a sweet, earthy, and warming profile.
It’s also a welcome addition to the Jameson line-up, and a reminder that Irish whiskey makers have the freedom to mature their spirit in a wide variety of woods. This release is a great example of how that flexibility can lead to exciting and distinctive results.
