Bomberger’s was the name of the distillery from the 19th century that became Michter’s in the 20th. Annually, they release historical batches honoring that legacy. This year, they changed it up. Bomberger’s Declaration is not well behaved bourbon. It is randy and forthright, and dares you to love it. The 2025 release is called Bomberger’s PFG for Precision Fine Grain. The PFG finishing barrel is a blend of wood from various origins, including Tronçais, Allier, Nevers, and Vosges from France. 40 months of open air seasoning precedes barrel construction.
