Every Award-Winning Irish Whiskey From The International Wine & Spirits Competition 2026

Irish whiskey is in the midst of a remarkable renaissance. From a handful of surviving distilleries a few decades ago to dozens now in operation, the category has rediscovered its range — pot still, single malt, grain and blended styles all making a case for Ireland’s place at the top table. The IWSC offers a test of that revival.

Established in 1969 by wine chemist Anton Massel, who insisted every entry be scientifically tested as well as tasted, the competition judges spirits blind in numbered glasses, drawing on panels from more than 30 countries and limiting each day to 65 samples so palates stay sharp and discussion stays considered. Scores correspond to Bronze (85-89), Silver (90-94), Gold (95-97) and Gold Outstanding (98-100).

The Irish whiskeys recognised at IWSC 2026 are ranked below by score and medal.
