As we reach the halfway point for our 2025 auctions, the quality of bottles we’re seeing each month certainly hasn’t slowed. In the Whisky.Auction June 2025 auction, there are collectors’ favourites alongside a few new releases (see the brand new Chichibu auctioned for charity below) to suit every price point and collection theme.
Here are the top five, as chosen by the Whisky.Auction team.
The Macallan 1937 32 Year Old Fine & Rare Collection First Bottled 1969 – Re-bottled 2002
When The Macallan released the Fine & Rare Collection in 2002, the goal was to create the world’s largest assembly of vintage-dated single malt whiskies from one brand. In achieving this goal, the distillery broke the record for the largest collection of vintages launched under one scotch whisky range, and it still holds that crown over 20 years on.
While every vintage in the collection is exciting to a lover of old whisky, it’s the oldest spirit that tends to capture the most attention, and this bottle is joint-second oldest in terms of distillation year in the Fine & Rare series. Originally bottled in 1974 at 37 years of age, this whisky was rediscovered and rebottled by Macallan as part of the first Fine & Rare release in 2002. There are just 288 ‘bottle equivalents’ in the world.
The Whisky.Auction valuation team expects this bottle to reach £15,000-£20,000. You can place your bids on this Macallan rarity here.
Chichibu Sexy Fish Set
With their luxury Japanese-inspired cuisine, Sexy Fish feels like the ideal restaurant to partner with highly regarded Japanese whisky producer Chichibu. So it’s not too surprising that they have recently launched their third exclusive bottling with the brand, this time to mark the 10th anniversary of Sexy Fish. These partnerships are masterminded by Speciality Brands – the UK distributor for Chichibu, and wholesaler Speciality Drinks. Only the most prestigious, hand-selected bars can get their hands on the single cask releases.
To mark the release of the latest Chichibu X Sexy Fish bottling, the restaurant has kindly donated a set of three releases to be auctioned by Whisky.Auction, raising money for the Richard Caring Foundation.
Our valuation team expects this set to reach a hammer price of £5,000-£7,000. Bid on these Japanese whiskies, and do your part for charity, here.

Michter’s 20 Year Old 2021 Limited Release
Quietly nurturing a bourbon in new American oak to reach the grand old age of 20 years without being overwhelmed by the wood is no mean feat, and many distilleries in America wouldn’t even try. Master Distiller Dan McKee at Michter’s, however, makes it his mission to coax the best casks through, paying special attention once they reach 17 years of maturation, a point he calls ‘the fork in the road.’
The very few casks that do reach 20 years are released as the highly sought-after limited bottling, which comes to market annually if there are enough casks of the right quality to make that happen. This bottle, available at Whisky.Auction now, was the release from 2021.
The Whisky.Auction valuation team expects this bottle to sell for £2,000-£2,500. Bid on the bourbon here.
Ardbeg 1972 13 Year Old Sestante
While the famous Samaroli often dominates talk about the great old Italian independent bottlers, it would be churlish of us to overlook the importance of Sestante and its founder, Ernesto ‘Rino’ Mainardi. Mainardi bottled some fantastic whiskies in the mid-80s, including this Ardbeg with its stand-out label. He predominantly focused on rebottling whiskies from both Gordon & MacPhail and Cadenhead’s which he used to re-label with his own designs – many of which have gone on to become legendary
We expect this bottle to reach a hammer price of £800-£1,200. You can bid on this Sestante Ardbeg here.
Bowmore European Fly Fishing Championships 2003
Call us spoiled, but at Whisky.Auction we’re lucky enough to see some of the best, and most precious, bottles in the world cross our desks as they’re carefully catalogued at auction. So it’s often the niche collector’s editions that make us smile the most. This Bowmore did just that. It was bottled in 2003 to commemorate the European Fly Fishing Championships, and could be ‘quite the catch’ for a winning bidder!
Our valuation team expects this bottle to sell for £300-£400. Bid on this Bowmore rarity here.
