Main Text: “IT TAKES ME A LONG TIME TO GET ROUND” said Johnnie Walker “The road to Kilmarnock,” said Johnnie Walker, “is a long one; in fact it takes me years to get there. For the separate whiskies, which are blended at Kilmarnock into Johnnie Walker, have first of all to mature for years in the wood. Only by ageing naturally in oak casks can these fine whiskies develop the qualities which enable them to be blended into a harmonious, ’round’ whisky—so that’s why it takes me so long to get ’round.’
