Meet The Bottler
Wasted Wolf Whisky is a Belgian independent bottler, born from the passion behind Arranthony Moray. The brand aims to do more than simply bottle whisky: every release tells its own unique story. The instantly recognisable white wolf takes centre stage, embarking on a new, often humorous or deeply personal adventure on every label.
Wasted Wolf works with whisky from various Scottish distilleries but is certainly not limited to Scotland. Releases have included spirits from Japan, Ireland and the Netherlands, as well as rum, gin and even Armagnac. Experimenting with distinctive cask maturations and finishes is an important part of the brand, including Oloroso, Palo Cortado, Port, Calvados, Pineau des Charentes and even Belgian Lambic beer casks.
Some releases carry particularly personal stories. The Japanese Yasato 2021 – The Guardian’s Vow, for example, was released to help fund the treatment of wolfhound Yara during a life-threatening illness. Other labels are inspired by historical events, journeys and amusing anecdotes.
Community is equally important. The Wolfpack takes part in tastings and even helps select future bottlings. Wasted Wolf Whisky combines small-batch releases, distinctive casks, striking artwork and memorable storytelling, ensuring that every bottle has its own character and identity.
From The Brand
- What's in the Bottle
What kind(s) of whisky do you bottle, and what can a newcomer expect from your flavor profile?
Quality driven single casks with bold cask choices like pineau des charentes, Belgian Lambic beer or even maple syrup.
- Wood & Maturation
How would you describe your wood policy? Can drinkers expect traditional oak maturation or experimental finishes?
Combination of both, standard bourbon and oloroso sherry but we’re not afraid to try new stuff !
- Brand Ethos
What makes your brand stand out in an increasingly crowded and competitive independent bottling landscape?
You don’t only buy a bottle, you buy a story. Every bottle displays the white wolf and tells a story about the distillery or the cask, so when you give a bottle to a friend you have the most fun part of being able to tell a whole story about the bottle.
- Value & Accessibility
Is value-for-money a core metric when you are deciding which casks to buy and bottle?
Yes, question we always ask ourselves. Would we buy this bottle ourselves given the quality that’s in it …
Why We Built This Directory
Every listing in The Whiskey Wash directory of independent bottlers is free and non-commercial. No bottler pays to be included, and nobody can pay for a better spot.
We built it because we love whisky, and independent bottlers are some of the most interesting people in it. They find the casks distilleries never release themselves, take chances on unusual finishes and keep the names of lost distilleries on the shelf.
Nothing like it has existed since ScotchWhisky.com closed. This is our attempt to fill that gap and introduce drinkers to the people behind the casks.
