The Caskhound is a German independent whisky bottler founded in 2020 by enthusiast Tilo Schnabel. The brand focuses on single-cask and small-batch Scotch whiskies, bottled at natural cask strength without chill-filtration or artificial coloring.
Name Origin: Inspired by a hound tracking down exceptional aromas, the founder hunts for rare casks from famous or closed Scottish distilleries.
Natural Presentation: All releases retain their authentic cask strength, natural color, and non-chill-filtered profile.
The Founder’s JourneyPrivate Beginnings: Founder Tilo Schnabel spent over 20 years as a passionate whisky consumer. He initially began hosting private “Flaschenteilungen” (bottle shares) on German internet forums. This allowed fellow club members to taste exceptionally rare or expensive vintage casks collectively.
Going Professional: He turned his passion into a full-time career, launching the official independent label in 2020 out of Geislingen an der Steige in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
