Jefferson’s Ocean: Aged At Sea Bourbon 3rd Edition Departs The Harbor

The folks behind the Jefferson's bourbon brand have released a third edition of the hard to find Ocean: Aged at Sea expression.

jeffersonocean-3Jefferson’s Ocean: Aged at Sea bourbon, which earlier this year was at batch two, looks to be back again this fall for a third iteration. The highly sought whiskey, which previously had been bottled at 90 proof and pricing around $70, is said to have spent time at sea in finishing barrels as part of a novel aging experiment.

What seems to be interesting about the Ocean 3 release, from what I’ve been seeing through Jefferson’s Twitter feed, is that in some cases bottlings for it seem to be appearing as private barrels for various retailers:

For those not wanting to dig through the feed here’s a short list below of those selling the rare bourbon online I’ve been able to put together that is current as of when this is posted. You should ultimately check the brand’s Twitter feed for the latest updates though. As for aging times, it’s been reported by Maxim that this spent “six years in a warehouse and six months on open seas.”
