2013 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon A Yearly Celebration

OLD FORESTER BIRTHDAY BOURBONOld Forester has the distinction of being the longest running bourbon brand on the market, first being bottled and marketed in 1873. Today owned by Brown-Forman, each year since 2002 a special limited edition birthday bourbon has come to market for collectors, and this year that tradition continues.

The 2013 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, according to Brown-Forman, is the 12th in a line of bourbons commemorating the birthday of founder George Garvin Brown. Selected

from a single day of production and handcrafted by Master Distiller Chris Morris, this limited edition small batch bourbon is vintage-dated – offering a one-of-a-kind character and flavor profile that will never be replicated. Its unique decanter style glass bottle is a throwback to the late 1800’s when Old Forester was first produced.  Each bottle features the founder’s signature and the dates on which the bourbon was barreled and bottled.

Flavor profile characteristics mentioned by Morris showcase vanilla bean and caramelized oak paired with deep layers of warming spices and a delicate nut character. This evolves into a rich aroma and long, warm finish. Bottled at 97 proof, the 2013 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon prices for around $55.
