High West, the well known distillery out of Utah, and The Prisoner Wine Company in California recently unveiled a partnership in which they did a mutual barrel swap to create a limited-edition wine and whiskey.
The Prisoner’s Share is available in limited quantities nationwide and at the High West General Store in Park City, Utah, pricing around $175 and bottled at 102 proof.

- Nose: Cherry Blossom, pomegranate, macerated prunes, dried violets, ginger beer, dark mead, toasted cedar chips
- Taste: Honey-roasted figs, apricot jam on grilled brioche, black pepper, coconut pound cake, French oak spice, caramel drizzled over blood orange slices
As for the wine, Complicit is described by The Prisoner Wine Company as its “interpretation of a whiskey barrel-aged wine, is made with Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Viognier that is partially aged in a mix of High West bourbon and rye barrels for 12 months.” Pricing at $100, it is available for purchase at The Prisoner Wine Company Tasting Room in St. Helena, California or online at theprisonerwinecompany.com.
