Bourye, a portmanteau of “bourbon” and “rye,” showcases High West’s blending expertise by combining straight whiskeys from multiple sources. The 2025 edition incorporates whiskeys from both MGP in Indiana and High West’s own distillate, alongside bourbon from Kentucky.
High West Bourye 2025
The 2025 Bourye features an intricate blend of straight rye whiskeys using 95% rye, 5% barley malt from MGP and 80% rye, 20% malted rye from High West Distillery. The mash bills of the straight bourbon components are as follows:
- 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% barley malt from MGP
- 60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley from MGP
- 78% corn, 10% rye, 12 % malted barley from Kentucky
High West maintains its craft approach with this release, employing no chill filtration and adding no flavoring. The whiskey arrives at 46% ABV (92 proof) with a suggested retail price of $124.99.

Tasting Profile
According to the official tasting notes, the 2025 Bourye offers aromatic notes of Honeycrisp apples, caramelized peaches, and honey butter on waffles. The palate delivers maple-glazed donuts, candied orange peel, and seasoned oak, finishing with fresh yellow nectarines and a gradually building rye spice.
High West recommends enjoying Bourye neat or with minimal water, specifically suggesting it’s best sipped around a campfire while stargazing. The distillery advises against serving it over ice, which could dilute its complex flavor profile.
The 10+ year age statement represents a significant maturation period for this premium offering, positioning it in the upper tier of American blended whiskeys.
